New Year’s Eve (NYE) is the next big event after Christmas and if you want to ring in the new year in style we have a list of the top firework shows happening in Cornwall. What better way to take in the show than with one of our hampers, we will recommend a different one for each event! From family friendly non-alcoholic hampers to ones that are full of sweet treats and savoury delicacies, our hampers make the perfect accompaniment to any occasion.

Looe

If you’re a fan of fancy dress, then Looe is the place you want to be on NYE. A massive informal street party emerges as the streets of Looe come alive with good-humoured revellers dressed in all manner of costumes. There are two fireworks displays, one at 6 pm for families with young children, and the other at midnight, both launched from Banjo Pier. We recommend East Looe Beach or the seafront promenade as the best viewing locations.

Hamper Recommendation: Alcohol-Free Sweet Treats Cornish Hamper

This delicious hamper is perfect for the whole family as it comes filled with fudge, biscuits, and even a chocolate pasty to add a classic Cornish twist! It also contains two deliciously refreshing non-alcoholic drinks from Cornish Orchards, their Cranberry & Raspberry Sparkle and Elderflower Presse.

Truro

Like Looe, Truro also has an additional early family-friendly firework display, starting at 7.30 pm. The fireworks are lit from Truro School and we recommend watching from Lemon Quay. Fancy dress is optional.

Hamper Recommendation: Non-Alcoholic Christmas Frolic Hamper

This fantastic 'Christmas Frolic' Cornish hamper includes some alcohol-free alternative drinks, as well other delicious Cornish goodies including Clotted Cream Fudge, Kernow Milk Chocolate as well as Savoury Oat Biscuits with Sea Salt and Christmas Chutney.

Newquay

Head on down to Newquay Harbour for a spectacular firework display from Newquay Town Council. Pick your favourite vantage point in Newquay which has a view of the Harbour to see in 2020 with a bang. Don’t forget to don your favourite fancy dress!

Hamper Recommendation: Cornish Pink Rock Gin, Tonic & Pink Gin Fudge Hamper

A stunning quartet of gin themed treats including a stylish bottle of Pink Cornish Rock Gin, deliciously crumbly Buttermilk pink gin fudge and low-sugar tonic water, made using spring water and botanical extracts.

Padstow

A small affair, the fireworks at Padstow harbour light up the Cornish coast at midnight. Perfect for those who want to avoid too many crowds but still wish to soak up the New Year's Eve atmosphere. Fancy dress is optional.

Hamper Recommendation: Cornish Farmhouse Picnic Hamper

This traditional countryside hamper is packed full of Cornish classics. With great savoury snacks including Cornish Blue Cheese and Basil Pesto Olives, the hamper also includes a high-quality bottle of red or white wine.

Falmouth

This firework display is sponsored by the Royal Duchy Hotel and hosted by Pendennis Castle. We would recommend watching from various locations along the seafront at midnight, including Gyllyngvase Beach.

Hamper Recommendation: Cornish Berry Cider Trio Hamper

The perfect accompaniment to a firework display on the beach, this trio of delicious ciders is bursting with berries. Featuring cider from the award-winning Cornish Orchards, Polgoon and Healeys.

St. Ives

We’re finishing with a bang as St. Ives is well known for hosting one of the biggest street parties in Cornwall on NYE. The bustling streets become full of tourists and locals, all dressed up in costumes. As the clock is about to reach midnight, it’s time to head down to the harbour to watch the fantastic fireworks display.

Hamper Recommendation: Classic Cornish Gold Ale Hamper

This hamper includes five classics which are guaranteed to go down well, featuring two pale ales, a golden ale and a Cornish IPA. Refreshing and robust, a perfect addition to your NYE celebrations.
