Cornish Premier Pasties have been creating their multi-award-winning Cornish pasties since 2008. Founded by a group of passionate ex-butcher/bakery professionals, they set out with a common goal - to create the best butcher’s pasty possible.
They use only the highest quality ingredients, which are locally sourced wherever possible, including potatoes, swede and onion which are grown at Hay Farm in Torpoint, Cornwall. Their in-house butchers prepare the freshly delivered meat on-premise every day to ensure that only the best quality beef goes into their pasties. Cornish Premier Pasties traditionally use trimmed skirt beef as this cut produces a rich gravy during the baking process, thus ensuring a genuine flavoursome Cornish Pasty.
In 2011, the European Commission awarded the Cornish Pasty "protected geographical indication" (PGI) status. This is important as it protects regional foods that have a specific quality, reputation or other characteristics that are attributable to that area. In order to be named a genuine Cornish Pasty, it must be made in Cornwall and it must include certain mandatory uncooked filling ingredients including potato, swede, onion, beef and seasoning. Once sufficiently filled, the pasties are then formed into a ‘D’ shape and crimped at the side.

They are proud to use Cornish produce wherever possible, which not only minimises the environmental impact of “Food Miles”, but also contributes to building the local economy.
